When?
Baby/child dedications are held every 3rd Sunday at the end of 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. services. You can register your child by completing the form below or in-person at the reception desk if you are on campus.
What is Baby or Child Dedication?
According to Psalm 127:3, children are a gift from God. There is no greater moment in time when this truth is more realized by parents than at the birth of their child. Understanding this truth, we believe that presenting and dedicating a child to God is for Christian parents but we welcome any parent desiring to dedicate a child.
Baby Dedication is a biblical practice. We read in the Gospel according to Luke (Luke 2:22-33) that the parents of Jesus dedicated Him unto the Lord on the eighth day as the Law had prescribed (Leviticus 12:1-4). Also in the Gospel according to Matthew (Matthew 19:13-14), we read about how people brought their little ones to Jesus so that He might place His hands on them and pray for them.
What will happen at the Baby or Child Dedication?
Following the biblical example of Jesus, during our Baby Dedication Service, the Pastor prays and lays hands on each and every child pronouncing the Blessing of God upon their lives. Parents are publicly acknowledging that their child is the inheritance of God and pledge before Him and His people to bring up their child in the nurture and guidance of the Lord. The service will include applying anointing oil on the head of the child and parents. A certificate will be given or mailed to the parents after the dedication.
I am a single parent. May I still dedicate my child?
Absolutely!
Who should we invite to the dedication service?
The dedication service is a very special time, so be sure to invite your family and friends. There is no limit on the number of guests you may invite.
Is there a cost for the dedication?
No. It is our honor to serve in this way.
Do I have to be a member of Agapé Christian Ministries to participate in the Baby/Child Dedication?
No, we receive all who desire to dedicate a child.
